Jungian Coaching

The Work & My Approach

Depth coaching for the parts of you that live beneath the surface: shadow work, dream interpretation, and archetypal healing, with a specialty in recovery from narcissistic abuse.

About Depth Coaching

I am a certified Jungian depth coach. My work is with the unconscious, the deeper layers of the psyche where our patterns, triggers, and old survival strategies begin. Carl Jung called the journey toward wholeness individuation: growing beyond the ego and coming home to the true Self. In our sessions, we take that journey together through:

  • Shadow work: meeting and integrating the parts of yourself you learned to hide, reject, or forget.
  • Dream interpretation: dreams are a bridge between the unconscious and conscious mind, and they always come in service of your health and wholeness.
  • Archetypes and active imagination: recognizing the larger patterns that run through your life and your family, and working with them consciously.

I work with all kinds of people who feel stuck in cycles they can't break. My specialty is recovery from narcissistic abuse, whether it happened in childhood, in a romantic relationship, at work, or in a friendship. I know this terrain from the inside. In my own recovery, shadow work taught me the healthy side of putting myself first: self-care, boundaries, and confident assertiveness.

Sessions are one-on-one and virtual, so I can work with clients anywhere in the world. We start with a free 15-minute call, then meet in 60- or 90-minute sessions.

The Witch's Daughter

The Witch's Daughter: My Mother, Her Magic, and the Madness That Bound Us (Gallery Books / Simon & Schuster, 2024) is my memoir about growing up with a mother who struggled with mental illness and addiction, and about finding my way out through music and self-discovery. It was a finalist for the Southern Book Prize in nonfiction.

"Orenda Fink's memoir is un-put-downable—it is a lyrical, compassionate, and complicated telling of the impacts of mental health and antagonism on multiple generations of a family… It will validate the experience of so many survivors of these family systems."

Dr. Ramani Durvasula, clinical psychologist and New York Times bestselling author of It's Not You

"Orenda Fink's book is an important document about the process of healing and individuating … by stepping out of the abusive family system. Orenda takes you through the process of the enmeshed insanity and helps you name the unnamable … It's the story of becoming lovable in a family that refuses to tell us we are. The book will change you."

Why This Work

I spent decades believing I was "the strong one, the healthy one, the one that got out." My body and my unconscious told a different story. What changed my life was learning to listen to my dreams, my triggers, and the parts of me I had exiled. Now I hold that space for others. Freedom comes through awareness. When you finally see the patterns that have been running your life, you can begin to live from who you really are.

I live in California's Mojave Desert with my husband, Todd Fink of The Faint, and our dog, Grimm.
